Professional 2017

Padiham Cricket Club are delighted to announced the extension to our 2016 Professional's contract for another year. Brady Barends was an integral part in the club securing a second place finish last season taking 41 wickets at an average of 11.45, scoring 300 runs and providing countless hours of coaching to the Juniors in our Academy.

Chairman Keith Clayton "I am delighted Brady has agreed to return to the Arbories for another season and I look forward to seeing him in action again. He was a breath of fresh air around the club, loved throughout the dressing room with the players and the kids were amazed by his enthusiam."

I am delighted to be returning to padiham cricket club! It caught my heart from the first day I saw that ground! It's an absolute pleasure to play along side some good cricketer and even better humans. The club and supporters have taken me as one of there own and when I had the offer to renew my deal I said yea very quickly. I'm looking forward to the new season and I hope to contribute in every form to this amazing club! #UTC

Brady is back home in South Africa for his First Class season for the North West Knights and we wish him all the very best. See you in April Cheif!

Padiham Cricket Club  - Second XI Captain

At the end of the 2016 season, Steve Meehan stepped down as the 2nd XI captain after 3 years in charge. The committee would like to place on record their thanks to Steve for his dedication over not just the past three years but his many many years of playing for the 1st XI, 2nd XI & 3rd XI. We are hopeful we haven't seen Steve step out onto the Arbories for the last time.

The committee along with former captain Steve discussed his possible successor at length and are delighted to announced Phil Edmondson as the new Second XI Captain of Padiham Cricket Club.

Phil has played for the club since 2012 and has throughly enjoyed his time at the club. With over 20 years experience in local league cricket the club felt he is the perfect replacement for Steve and I'm sure the whole club wish him all the very best.

Phil said "I'm absolutley delighted with being appointed as 2nd team captain for the upcoming season, Steve Meehan has done a fantastic job over the years and I hope to carry on his good work but also to put my mark on it as well. I know it's going to be a tough job but we've got a great set lads and I'm looking forward to the challenge."

Phil looks forward to see ALL players on Thursday 2nd March for the first indoor training session. :-)

Posted by Callum Clarke on 29/11/2016 11:30

Padiham Cricket Club are delighted to sign Australian batsman Harry Lawson as our Overseas Amateur for the 2017 cricket season.

Following the Annual General Meeting, the Clubs voted in favour of allowing Overseas Amateurs* to play in the Ribblesdale Cricket League for the 2017 season and beyond. This decision has now opened the door for unique partnerships to be set up between Padiham Cricket Club and various clubs around the World. To be eligible to play in the RCL all  Overseas Amateurs must be Under 24 years of age and must not have played First Class Cricket in any form in any country.

Harry Lawson has played for Williamstown CYMS Cricket Club all his Junior career and has progressed through to open the batting in the clubs 1st XI. He is currently beginning his season out in Melbourne and we would like to wish him all the best from everyone at Padiham CC.
